Okey Rummy - The Turkish Version

So as we mentioned before, the goal in this game is to be the first player that get rid of all the tiles in his hands. The game is over when one of the players lay down all his tiles in runs, sets or 7 pairs, while the last tile will be drown to the discarding pile.

Set could be 3 or 4 tiles from same value but different suite:

Legal Set in Rummy 500 Or  Legal Set in Rummy 500

Run could be consecutive of 3 tiles or more from same suite:

Legal Run in Rummy 500 Or  Legal Run in Rummy 500

7 pairs – player can win the game if in his hands 7 pairs, even if he doesn’t have melds at all. He could lay down all the 7 pairs in the table and win the game. The pairs have to be identical.

So Okey played between 2 to 4 players when most of the time 4 players. There are 106 tiles. 2 regular decks of tiles 52 tiles each, 2 jokers with star sign on them.
Every Okey game starts with 14 tiles for each player, while the first player to play gets 15 tiles and won’t draw a tile from the stock pile in the first turn. The rest of the tiles will become the stock pile, one tile will be in the middle the tile with face up and the opening tile and can’t be drawn. The opening tile will be the value of the joker in the same game.

Joker – in Okey Rummy the joker will be marked in letter ‘J’ at the bottom right corner. Joker can replace every other card during the game just like in other Rummy games. The value of the joker determinate according to the opening tile.

The star tile – the tile that marked with the star icon could replace only the original value of the jokers tiles in the same game. Means that if the joker will be 4 red so the star tile could replace only this 4 red tile in set or pair.

For example: Joker =   means that now the joker is   and could shown like that:

Every round consists:

1. Drawing – in the beginning of every turn the player can choose if to draw from the stock pile or from the discarding pile. Notice that in Okey Rummy every player got his own personal discarding pile.

2. Discarding – in the end of every turn player must discard a tile on the top of the discarding pile.

Those moves must be made in Okey Rummy as well as all other Rummy games we know.
